COOKIE CROCK. MAKING CHANGES THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

REDUCE

We are not just your local grocery store; we are members of your community. All of us bear the social responsibility of the conservation of finite energy resources. With that in mind, Cookie Crock is working in conjunction with PG&E to reduce our energy consumption. Over the last year we have converted to low voltage lighting, and upgraded the insulating curtains for our walk-in freezers and refrigerators. In the future we will be upgrading our generator system, which could reduce energy consumption by as much as forty percent.

REUSE

Our customers are encouraged to reuse their bags when possible, and all of our stores offer reusable bags for purchase, starting at under a dollar. From our simple Cookie Crock brand bags, to insulated bags, to designer bags in a variety of patterns, we have what you are looking for.

RECYCLE

All of our locations separate their paper and plastic waste for recycling, as well as baling their corrugated cardboard to be recycled. We have specialized onsite recycling centers for batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, and the collection of plastic grocery bags. Customers are welcome to bring in these products for proper disposal. At our Cambria store we are working with Mountain Communities Recycling to make sure our customers are reimbursed for the bottles and cans they have brought in from home.
